Black Throated Diver nest now on LIVE webcam!
01 June 2012
In what we think might be a European first (certainly UK), the Beinn Eighe Visitor centre now has a live webcam running beside a Black Throated Divers nest in the magnificent surroundings of Loch Maree, in Wester Ross. This area of North West Scotland is a stronghold of these beautiful, but rare, birds - this presents an opportunity to see and learn more about their habits and movements over the course of a season.
In the long term, plans are developing to allow these images to go online, in what's hoped to be a significant tourism boost for the area. To learn more about the reserve itself, and the many and varied attractions of both Wester Ross itself and our national nature reserves, have a look on this site (Visit Wester Ross) or go to the SNH National Nature Reserve network site.
Meanwhile, here's a picture of a Black Throated Diver!
